ST. PAUL'S ARTSFEST COMMUNITY ART EXHIBITION 2024
SEASONS IN NATURE/SEASONS IN LIFE
Dates: Wednesday 18 September - Thursday 10 October 2024.
Submission Deadline: Wednesday 28 August 2024 by 6pm
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
St. Paul's ArtsFest 2024 is inviting submissions from local artists for its Community Art Exhibition to open on Wednesday 18 September and closing on Thursday 10 October 2024. The exhibition is part of St. Paul's ArtsFest taking place from 18 to 22 September.
Inspired by the biblical text "For everything there is a season" (Ecclesiastes 3:1) our exhibition theme is "Seasons in Nature/Seasons in Life." This can be interpreted as broadly and loosely as your imagination allows you to go!
We welcome small (max. 40x40 cm) paintings, drawings, prints and collages that will be hung on a large wall in St. Paul's community hall, both besides and above/below each other.
Because of space limitations there will be a selection process with priority given to artists from the Newtown and surrounding neighbourhoods.
Application is free.
GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION
Applicants have to be 16 year or over.
Acceptable media: paintings, drawings, original prints and collages.
Maximum dimensions: 40x40cm2 including frame. We only accept 2-D works.
All selected works must be framed such that they can be hung with Command adhesive strips (for details see www.command.com/3M/en_US/command/how-to-use/picture-hanging-strips). The strips will be provided but selected artists are asked to contribute £5 towards hanging and administrative costs upon delivery. Perspex clip frames are not acceptable.
LIABILITY and INDEMNITY
The selected works will be shown in a community hall that hosts various activities during the week, including community meals and the Food Bank. While St. Paul's will do everything in its power to look after the works, any potential loss or damage is at the artist’s risk and the church excludes all liability.
SALES
St. Paul's is not acting as an agent for selling any work but will provide the artist's contact details for potential buyers to get in touch with them directly. We do not charge a commission.
All selected works will exhibited with the following information: the artist's name; the title of the work; the work's medium; (if applicable) the price and a QR code to the artist's website.

The exhibition will be open to the public during office hours from Monday to Friday between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm except for when the hall is used for meetings or other purposes such as the food bank. To make sure the exhibition is accessible, please call the office beforehand.
