fiona Stevenson

Art Exhibition

Fiona is an abstract expressionist painter who lives and works in Hertfordshire.

She was inspired by the first Alan Davie show in Hertford but came to her own expressive mark making and colour sensitivity on her own.

She works mostly in oils and she uses the medium in a free, expressive and spontaneous way to tell a story, without preconception, but always with a clear objective in mind as she paints.

Her work is in the same territory as Howard Hodgkin. Says Fiona “I am a representational painter, not a painter of appearances”. Or George Rodrigue -colourful brushstrokes based on the myths and legends of his culture.

Fiona has exhibited her work in London, New York, Manchester and Hertford.
